Spring Homesteading Skills Workshops

Honey & Herbs for Health
The healing powers of honey are well-documented. This tasty and nutritious gift of the European Honeybee becomes even more potent when combined with culinary herbs and spices. This workshop shares methods of combining honey with plants known

for their own medicinal and flavoring qualities. In addition, creative culinary methods of using these combinations will be provided. Attendees will leave with samples to get them started on “eating their medicine”. – Friday, March 24, 2017 – 6:30pm

Introduction to Cheesemaking
Dating back thousands of years, cheese continues to be a favorite food in many cultures.  In this workshop participants will make two easy cheeses that can be produced right at home with simple, readily available ingredients and equipment.  While the cheese works its magic, we’ll share the history and fine points of this ancient craft along with some delicious cheesy recipes. Attendees will leave with their creations (IF there are leftovers!). – Saturday, April 1, 2017 – 1:00pm

 Each Class $60 / Both Classes $100
