I get great joy greeting the birds that cross my path on the drive into work each day. It is especially so on the more landmark days of the solar year, such as today’s Winter Solstice. Somehow I just know the wild creatures sense something extra special about these seasonal milestones. And our historic relations did, as well.
I can’t help but feel that our experience here on Earth is much less rich when we fail to pause and consider the significance of these moments in the cycles of life on our planet. This morning’s BirdNote was especially inspiring and profound. Please take a moment and listen to what they shared (http://birdnote.org/show/solstice-fires).
Happy Solstice and may peace guide the planet. Mitakuye Oyasin.
